Hi, I'm Harriet.

Before I started planning weddings, I spent years performing in musical theatre. And not just any role - I was a swing in one of the biggest musicals in the world.

If you're not familiar with theatre terminology, a swing is someone who learns multiple roles and can be thrown on at a moment's notice when something changes.

Someone calls in sick? You're on. A cast member can't go on? You're on. Something changes five minutes before curtain? You adapt. And you do it all without the audience ever knowing anything went wrong.

Sound familiar? That experience has probably shaped the way I plan weddings more than anything else.

Because weddings are a little bit like live theatre. You can have the most detailed plan in the world, but sometimes things change. A supplier is late. The weather does something unexpected. Someone forgets something. A dress needs fixing. A timeline suddenly needs moving.

I'm very comfortable with that.

I know how to stay calm when everyone else is looking at you. I know how to make decisions quickly, think on my feet and keep things moving when the plan suddenly changes. And I genuinely love it.

I'm not the planner who panics when something goes wrong. I'm the person you want in the room when it does.

My theatre background also taught me something else: the best work often happens behind the scenes. You might never see the conversations, the quick decisions, the supplier phone calls, the last-minute fixes or the tiny details being quietly taken care of. And that's exactly how I want it.

So yes, I'll probably have a timeline in one hand, a radio in the other and be solving three problems you didn't even know existed. And honestly? That's my favourite part.

On a personal note, I'm a gay woman, and planning my own wedding to my wife is what led me here. Our planner was unresponsive, pushed her own ideas onto our day and made what should have been an exciting time feel stressful and impersonal.
