Meet Harriet
I'm Harriet, the founder and planner behind Dorset Wedding Co.
Before I planned weddings, I was a swing in one of the biggest musicals in the world - the person who learns multiple roles and steps in when something changes at the last minute.
That background is why I'm calm under pressure, quick on my feet and genuinely love it when the plan suddenly shifts. Your day should feel effortless to you, even when there's a lot happening behind the scenes.
How I work
Because when something unexpected happens, you shouldn't even have to know about it.
You shouldn't be running your wedding on your wedding day.

A real Dorset wedding
They'd planned the wedding themselves, right down to the marquee in the bride's family garden. What they wanted from me was someone to take the running of it, so they could actually be at their own wedding. I came in five weeks before the day.
The ceremony was at the local church, a minute down the road from the family home, then everyone back to the house for an English garden wedding: 99 guests, a marquee, and a day that felt relaxed and completely theirs.
By then I'd already checked the things that needed checking - the marquee furniture, the caterers' rental kit, whether it all physically fitted together. On the day I was sending people out for sparkling water and ice, fixing a broken shoe with cable ties and getting two grannies home by taxi.
They got to be newlyweds. Their family got to be family. I got to run around making sure everything happened.
